Kickin’ It with Ariel Torres

Ariel Torres Gutierrez, a student of Robert Young Sensei in Hialeah, Florida, is currently ranked second by the World Karate Federation for male kata and is among the most successful kata athletes in the Pan Americas. In the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, he earned a bronze medal and the only athlete in the Americas to accomplish this in Karate. Hot off his medal winning performance match in Egypt, he will be visiting NOX Dojo in Markham, Ontario to share some of his training secrets to dedicated athletes from as far as Colombia.

  • 4:00: Doors Open

  • 7:30: Ohan

Athletes should be familiar with the pattern of all kata. Ariel will be focussing on universal principles in each kata.
