Years ago, the Discovery Channel ranked Meibukan Goju as the world’s best martial art. This month, the Discovery Channel once again featured Meibukan instructor Sensei Poon Chan on the show Guinea Pig.

Sensei Poon Chan is a Canadian representative under Hanshi Anthony Mirakian of USA. Meibukan Goju-Ryu is among the most traditional Karate system from Okinawa, Japan and concentrates on a Pre-WWII karate heritage. Markham Meibukai is a proud representative of the Meibukan Hombu Dojo whose president isHanshi Yagi Meitetsu, the son of Meibukan’s father Yagi Meitoku, Dai Sensei.
