Meibukan Games London 08

It was a wonderful day in London when athletes from Markham, London, Windsor, and Ingersoll came together in the spirit of fair play and friendship on October 26th, 2008. Markham entered the event in an effort to earn valuable points to win the Meibukan Games Trophy. Although the points for Team Meibukan competition season begins in September, points for the Meibukan Games Trophy is calculated for the calendar year.
A new points system was adopted for this event. The London Goju Club won the Meibukan Games in Markham last spring and this time in London, NOX from Markham earned 500 points to London’s 385. Points for the Markham event was recalculated using the new system giving them 323 points to Markham’s 190. With a total of 718 points London Goju Club becomes the Markham Games first dojo champion.

The event promoted a supportive and family atmosphere which is for great kids and adults alike. Like the athletes, Sensei Richard Fall and all of the volunteers learned a lot from the event therefore only adding to further improvements. More pictures will be posted soon as well as videos on Team Meibukan’s YOUTUBE.com group.
