After just one week, renovations are progressing nicely. Walls for small spaces are being removed to make a big spaces. Electrical is almost complete and plumbing is on schedule. Painting is halfway finished. A good start for a March 1st opening.

I can hardly contain myself. After weeks of negotiations, I can now officially announce our new location. It’s BIG news!

We are moving to 5762 Hwy#7 where the foot stomping Footloose used to be. When renovations are complete it will be 7000 square feet of foot moving, hip wielding, and loud shouting dojo boasting custom tatami mats, training room, conference room, pro-shop, and comfortable bleachers for parents to sit in. This new location is now perfect suited for our new Samurai Kenjitsu Classes that encompasses drawing of the sword and practical sword work. Even with such an outstanding facility, it will still have a small feel and will always be the dojo with the BIG heart.

This move was unfortunately prompted by the demolition scheduled for our current location. In the name of progress, they are building condos. With news of the pending demolition, our neighbouring tenants slowly deserted 58 Main Street. This time, our neighbours will be Shopper’s Drug Mart, Home Hardware, No Frills, TD Canada Trust, Osaka Sushi, and ever popular Markham Bowl. We will begin business in our new location starting March 1st, 2012, just in time for Master Yagi’s seminars.

This means that for the month February, there will be many painting and moving parties scheduled. I provide you music, pizza, and beverages of your choice. First painting party is Sunday, February 5th, 2012 and the other a week later on February 12th.
